Sea Turtle Conservation
Marine turtles are endangered and face enormous conservation challenges due to the rapid transformation of our seas. We used to be a silent observer of the mass death of sea turtles on the shores of the East Coast and resolved to provide whatever help we could offer. Accordingly, we met Supraja Dharini, TREE Foundation in Chennai and became its trustee from 2006 to 2010. At TREE Foundation, we carried out turtle walks, collecting eggs and releasing more than 50,000 hatchlings into the sea from the hatchery. We were also involved in satellite tagging and rescued and rehabilitated turtles whose fins were damaged from fishermen's nets.
